Prince William was spotted riding an electric scooter in Windsor Castle. The viral TikTok video, shared on Thursday, captures the Prince of Wales, 42, dressed in a blue sweater, white collared shirt, and black sunglasses, zipping past a security guard on the estate.
The scooter could prove useful in reducing the 10-minute journey between the castle and Adelaide Cottage, where Prince William resides with his wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
According to reports from the Sun, the Prince invested in the device last year, which could cost up to $6,000. A source told the outlet, “It just makes sense. He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King. It’s a two- or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking.”
Windsor Castle’s 655-acre grounds also feature a golf course and Frogmore House, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
In addition to his interest in electric scooters, Prince William is known for his love of motorcycles. In 2015, during a visit to Dundee, Kate Middleton reportedly expressed her concern about her husband’s hobby, saying, “He’s still riding it. It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it. I’m terrified. Hopefully, I’m going to keep George off it.”
Recently, Prince William celebrated his 42nd birthday by attending Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour with Princess Charlotte and Prince George, where he showcased his dancing skills. While Kate Middleton and Prince Louis did not attend the concert, the Princess of Wales did participate in the Trooping the Colour festivities on June 15, despite her ongoing battle with cancer.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account shared a photo of Swift taking a selfie with the royal and his two eldest children, captioned, “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour.” Swift also posted a photo featuring her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, with the message, “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”
