Shatrughan Sinha was hospitalised a few days back. Several reports claimed that the actor was undergoing surgery. Now, in a recent interview, he clarified the reason for his hospitalisation.

Speaking to a news portal, the veteran actor clarified that it was just his ‘annual routine full-body check-up’ for which he was admitted to the hospital. He added, “I’ve been travelling for my election campaigning non-stop for three months. Then, right after, my daughter got married. I am no longer that hot-blooded, energy-driven young man who could do three shifts a day and still have the energy to party all night. I need to slow down.”

The actor also added that he knows who started the rumours, but would not like to comment on it since the person is his well-wisher and meant no harm. He also said, “Surgery ko… Khamosh! Arrey bhai, mujhe surgery hui aur mujhe khud nahin maloom?(I am having surgery and I wouldn’t know?)”

Earlier, the actor had shared a photo from the hospital room enjoying the India VS South Africa T20 World Cup finale. “Away from the ‘controversy & confusion’ created by some of our good friends from the social media/Youtubers. The fact is enjoying with best of our family members, brothers & dear friends. Enjoying the most talked about International Cricket match between #SouthAfrica & #India (sic),” he wrote.

On July 1, the actor’s son, Luv Sinha, dismissed the rumours that Shtarughan underwent ‘a minor surgery’. He clarified on X and wrote, “Regarding my father’s health, I’d like to state that there was no surgical procedure. Please do not believe unverified news. We took my father to the hospital for his annual checkup and because he had a high fever. Thank you to everyone who has been concerned (sic).”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal also visited the actor at the hospital.
