UK PM Elections 2024: Keir Starmer led Labour Party is eyeing at a landslide victory marking an end to 14 year-rule of Conservative Party, currently led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The exit polls after the UK elections indicated a resounding victory the Labour party riding on the anti-incumbency wave of sentiments among people.

Keir Starmer’s promise to be the agent of change has appealed the people in the UK as the Conservatives are losing credibility as the public hold them responsible for post-Brexit economic crises, scandals, and political tumult. The official results of the UK PM Elections are yet to be announced. Here’s all you need to know about Keir Starmer, likely to be the next Prime Minister of the UK.

Who is Keir Starmer?

Keir Starmer has spent four years as opposition leader and has driven his party’s ideological stance from the left towards the political middle ground. Throughout the campaign, his message to voters is that a Labour government will bring change — of the reassuring rather than scary kind.

Before being in the opposition, Keir Starmer had served as prosecutor for England and Wales between 2008 and 2013. Earlier, Starmer was called by his opponents as “lefty London lawyer”, according to AP.

He was knighted for his role leading the Crown Prosecution Service, and Conservative opponents like to use his title, Sir Keir Starmer, to paint him as elite and out of touch.
