India captain Rohit Sharma’s mother Purnima got emotional seeing his son after he led the team to a historic T20 World Cup triumph on Thursday, July 4. Notably, team India finally returned from Barbados after being stranded in the country for three days and landed in Delhi.
The entire team got a rousing reception from fans who had gathered to welcome the World Champions at the airport. The Men in Blue were also hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a special breakfast meet and later travelled to Mumbai for an open bus victory parade.
The Indian skipper also met his parents Gurunath and Purnima Sharma upon his arrival in Mumbai as his mother got emotional seeing him. Purnima repeatedly kissed and hugged Rohit in a heartwarming moment which was captured by the media.
