Tigers coach Benji Marshall has been left “confused” by the two sin bins his side copped in the second half of their 40-6 loss to the Roosters on Sunday.

Skipper Api Koroisau and centre Adam Doueihi were both given their marching orders for separate incidents, which left the Tigers down to 11 men for a couple of minutes.

Marshall echoed the comments made by opposition coach Trent Robinson over Koroisau’s sin binning, believing it was “harsh”.

“I’m a little bit confused about them,” Marshall said.

“Doueihi’s one in particular. I don’t know what he’s supposed to do. Sol (Solomona Faataape) puts on a good shot, sends him backwards and Doueihi’s just underneath him, I thought that was pretty harsh.

“We had one put on report against us too.

“Obviously the second one, Api’s one…I thought it was pretty harsh as well.

“Doueihi tackled him from behind and he got hit from in front. I don’t know.

“It’s hard to know, it’s a lottery at the moment and we seem to be on the end of them quite often.”

In an exclusive interview with foxsports.com.au last week, legendary coach Wayne Bennett wasn’t shy in expressing his displeasure with how liberally sin bins are being dished out at the moment.

“So let’s just keep it simple and stick to the professional fouls for sin bins, and then let the match review committee take control of the grading and suspensions,” Bennett said.

Robinson referenced Bennett’s comments when discussing Koroisau’s sin bin.

“It’s a hard one, but I don’t know if it’s ten minutes or not, that’s me,” he said after the Roosters’ win.

“Someone might tell me I’m completely wrong. But I think it changes the course of the game completely and I think that’s the debate Wayne (Bennett) started a few of days ago.”

Up 26-0, the Roosters were well in control at the time at Koroisau’s sin binning in the 56th minute, so it likely didn’t affect the end result.

However, Marshall said it contributed to the Roosters piling on the points with three quick tries in the second half.

“They had only scored one try (in the second half) up until that point and then they ran away with it,” Marshall said.

“I don’t have any feelings. Obviously I let my team down by not being on the field,” Koroisau commented when asked about the incident.
